Council Member Molina Townhall Registration

On Wednesday, June 12, from 6-8 p.m. at the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy (5535 Albemarle Road), Charlotte City Councilmember Molina will host a townhall to discuss the evolving dynamics of single-family housing in East Charlotte and the imapcts and benefits of the Unified Development Ordinance.

Representatives from the Charlotte Department of Transportation, Community Tree Canopy Preservation Division, Planning, Design & Development, and Storm Water Services will be present to address the following questions:

  • What is the 2040 Comprehensive Plan and the UDO?
  • What are the differences between our previous zoning and the new zoning?
  • Why is the City allowing duplexes and triplexes in single-family neighborhoods?
  • What requirements must be met to build a duplex or triplex in our neighborhood?
  • What is a Neighborhood Character Overlay district?
  • Are there new stormwater and urban forestry requirements for single-family homes?
